Werner Schaub
Werner Schaub is an artist. 1 work is cataloged here, principally at Archaeology and Museum Baselland.
Werner Schaub spent his days hunched over watercolors in a Basel attic, muttering about “the tyranny of blank walls.” In 1967 he turned that attic into a public experiment: for a school extension he painted a 30-foot abstract swirl that kids could climb like a maze. Why it matters? That mural is still there, a quiet blue-and-ochre puzzle that makes the late-afternoon light on the stairwell feel like moving through a seashell.
