Artist

Paras

Paras is a Renaissance artist. 1 work is cataloged here, principally at Victoria and Albert Museum.

Paras loved to paint on scraps of old books and letters he found in the alleys of Agra. He’d slip small, ink-and-wash faces into the margins—merchants, beggars, a sleeping dog—each no bigger than a thumbnail. You’ll spot his trick in the corner of the Mughal album called *The St. Petersburg Muraqqa*, where a water-carrier’s face peeks from between two calligraphy lines.
