Artist

Hans Troschel

Hans Troschel is a Renaissance artist. 1 work is cataloged here, principally at Victoria and Albert Museum.

This printmaker made woodcut portraits of bearded figures in the mid-1500s. One of these, H Beard Print Collection (possibly from 1558), shows finely cut lines that give each beard its own texture and character. It’s a slice of German Renaissance printmaking you can still trace in later engravings. Want to see more beards in ink? Tap H Beard Print Collection to zoom in.
