Othmar Schimkowitz
Othmar Schimkowitz is an artist. 1 work is cataloged here, principally at Victoria and Albert Museum.
Othmar Schimkowitz spent his life turning glassblowing into a quiet rebellion. By day he ran a small studio in southern Austria; by night he melted down yesterday’s rejects into something new. His photographs catch the furnace’s glow on half-formed shapes, a dance of fire and fragility you’d miss if you blinked. Look up *Untitled (Photograph)* and you’ll see why he belongs in Gallery Tiles—it’s the only place where a blown-glass scrap can feel like a held breath.
