Pierre Jean Braecke

Pierre Jean Braecke is an artist. 1 work is cataloged here, principally at Victoria and Albert Museum.

This Belgian guy carried a camera like others carry wallets—always ready to snap a quick study. He shot Brussels’ back alleys and doorways in soft gray tones, framing the city’s quiet corners like found poems. Because his photos feel like someone’s half-remembered morning walk, his work fits right next to the ones you can barely tell were taken in the 1920s. Look up “Untitled (Photograph)” to see Brussels wake up without a sound.
