Artist

Henry George VPRI Hine

Henry George VPRI Hine is an Impressionism artist. 2 works are cataloged here, principally at Victoria and Albert Museum.

This British artist painted quiet landscapes in watercolour, mostly views of southern England. He left us two small sheets: *Agglestone, near Swanage, Dorsetshire* from 1870 shows a lone rock standing above rolling fields, while *South Downs* captures the same chalk hills in softer light. Both are small enough to hold in one hand, letting you trace every blade of grass and fold of earth. Next, tap *South Downs*—you’ll see how he laid pale washes over tiny pencil lines to build up the hills.
