Gheorghe Zlotescu

Gheorghe Zlotescu is an artist. 1 work is cataloged here, principally at National Museum of Art of Romania.

Gheorghe Zlotescu kept a studio lit only by a single lamp, painting the same young woman in a striped Turkish outfit until her face became a blur of concentration. He was the kind of artist who erased more than he kept—layers of gowns, half-finished hands—yet left the stripes of her dress glowing like a flag. Slide into his *Odaliscă* and you’ll notice the left cuff is darker than the right, as if he forgot to lift his brush at the exact moment he remembered why he started.
