Johann Martin Stock

Johann Martin Stock is a Baroque artist. 1 work is cataloged here, principally at Brukenthal National Museum.

A Romanian printmaker active in the 1700s, Johann Martin Stock made small, finely detailed scenes of daily life. His only confirmed work in this set is the 1780 etching Soția industriașului Wolf, din Sighișoara, a single-sheet portrait of a merchant’s wife in her Transylvanian town. The print shows lace collars and wooden beams in crisp black-and-white lines—old-school Instagram realism. Want to see more 18th-century European prints? Tap the movement tag up top.
