Artist

Henry Haseler

Henry Haseler is a British Romanticism artist. 1 work is cataloged here, principally at Victoria and Albert Museum.

This watercolorist left only one dated sheet, the 1816 Untitled view of London in pale washes and soft greys. The sheet shows Waterloo Bridge and the riverbank below Somerset House, its spire rising just past the sheet’s edge. Look closer and you’ll see tiny figures lining the embankment, each drawn with a single calligraphic stroke. Tap the sheet to zoom in on those minuscule strollers along the Strand.
