Kostakou Stavroula

Greek artist Kostakou Stavroula made bold, spare landscapes and abstract metalworks in the 1990s. Her 1998 painting Landscape pares hills and light into flat, sun-bleached planes that feel both ancient and modern. The same year she turned to metal, welding untitled sculptures that read like frozen gestures or weathered tools. Both strands keep color muted and forms clean, as if she’s carving space itself.
