Artist
Maria Tzanakou
Maria Tzanakou is an artist. 2 works are cataloged here, principally at Athens School of Fine Arts.
Maria Tzanakou moves quietly through Athens, often photographing the same sunlit walls, peeling signs, and empty corners people walk past every day. She doesn’t name most of her photos—many are simply titled *Άτιτλο*, which means “untitled” in Greek—letting the quiet moments speak for themselves. There’s something about the way she captures ordinary surfaces that makes you look twice, like meaning is hiding in the cracks. Her 2010 photograph *Άτιτλο* feels especially still, as if time slowed just for that shadow on a stairwell. Tap on that image in your feed to start with Tzanakou.
