Xenophon Vlachopoulos
Xenophon Vlachopoulos is an artist. 1 work is cataloged here, principally at Victoria and Albert Museum.
Xenophon Vlachopoulos spent his mornings painting the same three cypress trees in his Athens backyard until he knew their shadows by heart. He kept a half-drunk cup of coffee on the windowsill and called it his “artist’s coffee” because it never got cold. His watercolors look like they were painted in one breath—no erasing, no second guessing. Look up his Cypresses; one in particular turns the trees into a row of green commas against a chalk-blue sky. Those strokes feel like he was writing a secret you almost understand.
