Artist
Brian Duffy
Brian Duffy is an artist. 1 work is cataloged here, principally at Victoria and Albert Museum.
Duffy was a London photographer who spent the '60s snapping the city’s sharpest faces—models, musicians, and misfits—before trading his camera for boat-building in the '80s. He later returned to photography only to die unnoticed in 2010, leaving behind a shoebox of unprocessed film. His real claim to fame? He shot the cover of David Bowie’s *Aladdin Sane* on the day Bowie’s lightning bolt was painted on his face. Tap into his 1965 portrait of Bowie, all smoldering eyes and silver hair, to see where glam rock began.
