Artist
Fanny Jane Fayrer
Fanny Jane Fayrer is an Impressionism artist. 1 work is cataloged here, principally at Victoria and Albert Museum.
Fanny Jane Fayrer spent years sketching along the Bay of Naples, where she’d set up camp with a folding stool and a tin of watercolors. She liked the way the light turned Ischia’s harbor turquoise by midday, then shifted to pewter by evening. You can see that shift in her 1910 watercolor of Forio Harbour—one half of the sheet glows, the other half is already in shadow. If you stand in front of it, you’ll feel the breeze she captured between the masts.
