Alpo Sailo

Alpo Sailo is an artist. 1 work is cataloged here, principally at Victoria and Albert Museum.

Alpo Sailo spent his life chasing the light in Finland’s lakes and forests, dragging his camera everywhere like a second shadow. He shot the same birch tree in every season and every hour, just to watch it change. You’ll find those prints in a quiet drawer at the Ateneum—one labeled *Untitled (Photograph)* that shows the tree in a blizzard, branches stiff with snow. The plain paper and single subject let the winter do the talking.
