Alexander Matwjejewitsch Dorogoff

Alexander Matwjejewitsch Dorogoff is a Romanticism artist. 2 works are cataloged here, principally at Victoria and Albert Museum.

Alexander Dorogoff painted delicate watercolors of distant places in the 1840s. He left two small but precise scenes: a quiet street scene titled Pera from 1847 and a view of the Asian side of Izmir called Koutaya that same year. Both sheets show slender minarets, low rooftops, and a hushed, sunlit palette you can still feel across the page. Tap next to stand inside the shaded courtyard of Pera.
