Lutf 'Ali Khan

Lutf 'Ali Khan is an artist. 1 work is cataloged here, principally at Victoria and Albert Museum.

Lutf 'Ali Khan spent his life in the royal workshops of Qajar-era Tehran, painting princes with languid eyes and jewel-encrusted daggers. He tucked tiny landscapes into the margins of portraits—tiny gardens that look like they could slip out of a frame and onto the street. Look for his Untitled portrait at the Met’s Islamic wing; tilt your head to spot the hidden garden in the corner.
