Rokubei workshop
Rokubei workshop is an Impressionism artist. 1 work is cataloged here, principally at Victoria and Albert Museum.
This team from the Rokubei workshop made bold, flat-patterned paintings on silk screens and folding fans around the 1870s. They used deep indigos and fiery reds to set off figures and fans against crisp white grounds—think of a single fan face showing a woman in layered robes or a bold pine against a snow peak. Their style belongs to the late Edo-meets-Meiji moment when Japan opened wider to the world. Tap the fan face titled *Rokubei (ca. 1877, Painting)* in the bundle to see it up close.
