Artist

Elton

Elton is a British Romanticism artist. 1 work is cataloged here, principally at Victoria and Albert Museum.

Elton painted quiet corners of northern England in watercolour, especially the soft, watery light around the Eden River. Around 1860–1884 he brushed delicate studies of old mills and willow-lined banks, each sheet showing the slow turn of a wheel or the reflection of stone arches. Tap into Old Mill on the Eden to stand beside the water and watch the light change on the brickwork.
