Amanda Kjellberg
Amanda Kjellberg is an artist. 1 work is cataloged here, principally at Finnish National Gallery.
Amanda Kjellberg spent her days in 19th-century Helsinki sketching the city’s quiet corners and the people who passed through them. She kept a habit of drawing on scraps of paper—tickets, receipts, anything—because she liked how small gestures could hold a whole life. That habit shows in her copy of a 1840s portrait of a young woman dressed as a Swedish noble, where every pencil line feels alive, not stiff like the stiff collars in the room. You can look up the drawing by its clunky Finnish title and see how one small sheet can hold a person’s whole presence.
