Artist
Walter
Walter is an artist. 1 work is cataloged here, principally at Victoria and Albert Museum.
Walter drew crowds but hated them. Every morning he’d sit at a café in Paris, sketching passersby with a pencil behind his ear, then selling the drawings for the price of a coffee. His prints—like *H Beard Collection*—are crowded street scenes from the 1850s, full of hats and bustles and half-hidden faces. Look for the man in the top hat who keeps showing up in the corners; he might be Walter himself.
