This printmaker left only a single dated work: *H Beard Print Collection (17th April 1912)*. The sheet shows a crisp, monochrome portrait of a top-hatted figure viewed from three-quarter back, its fine stippling suggesting an engraver comfortable with scale and shadow. The artist’s identity and lifespan are unknown, so the print itself is the only evidence they existed. Look next at the print’s sharp profile lines and the way the hat brim casts a neat half-moon of shade across the cheek.
