Timoleon von Neff is an artist. 4 works are cataloged here, principally at Finnish National Gallery.

Timoleon von Neff spent his life painting the same two families over and over—like a neighbor who never leaves town. Most of his portraits show the von Haartmans, a Finnish-Swedish clan who posed with the same quiet dignity back in the 1800s. He never traveled far from home, but he did squeeze every ounce of personality into those stiff 19th-century collars. Slip past the formal poses in *Rakkaita muistoja* and you’ll spot real warmth; look for the glint in a child’s eye or the way an elder’s hand rests on a chair arm.
