H.C. Seppings Wright spent his life in the print shops of Fleet Street, inking plates by hand and cursing the damp London mornings that blurred his proofs. The man could turn a city council meeting into a visual story—look at his 1903 print “25th April,” where every bored councillor and sprawling map pinches the same gray light. His scratchy lines feel closer to a neighbor’s quick sketch than to museum art, so he fits right in next to the Beards’ own prints in the same corner of the gallery.
