'J' painting 'Long Shadows' above Yeo Vale, Devon, November 1949

Mary Stella Edwards is an Impressionism artist. 5 works are cataloged here, principally at Victoria and Albert Museum.

Mary Stella Edwards painted quiet corners of Wales and England with watercolours—no drama, just precise light. She recorded Llyn Idwal in 1929 and Llyn Tyn-Y-Mynydd in 1920, both glassy mountain lakes whose reflections stayed sharp in her tiny cakes of colour. She also caught the hushed drama of the Victoria and Albert Museum’s Cast Court and the short shadows over Yeo Vale in 1949.
