W. Walker is an artist. 2 works are cataloged here, principally at Victoria and Albert Museum.
Walker hid ink in his teapot. Every morning he’d pour a cup, let the steam soften the brush bristles, then paint the same half-smile onto every aristocrat who walked through his London studio, as if they’d all just heard the same dull joke. The trick? He never touched the teapot himself—his wife stirred the color while he sketched, so the brush never left the pot and the smile stayed identical across 300 portraits. Look for the teapot’s tiny shadow in the corner of *Harry Beard Print Collection*; it’s the only thing that moves.
