Artist

Frederick Parr

Frederick Parr is an Impressionism artist. 1 work is cataloged here, principally at Victoria and Albert Museum.

Frederick Parr painted distant landscapes in watercolour around the middle of the 19th century. One sheet shows The Beit el-ma Falls, near Antioch, a sheet of water cascading over rock ribs seen from a high vantage point. White paper left untouched for spray and light catching the distant gorge give the scene life. Next, tap into the same sheet to study how Parr balanced wet washes and dry brush in the foreground.
