Lucinda Rogers

Lucinda Rogers is an artist. 1 work is cataloged here, principally at Victoria and Albert Museum.

Lucinda Rogers keeps a fold-up stool in her bag and draws standing up, even when the gallery guards look nervous. She’s drawn the same London street markets for thirty years, always in ink, always from memory after one quick walk-through. A friend once watched her sketch a butcher’s stall with one hand while balancing coffee with the other—no sketchbook, just a receipt and a biro. Look up her page in the V&A’s 2007 anniversary album drawn from memory, the one titled “Brick Lane Stall.” You’ll see why she belongs in Gallery Tiles: zero safety rails, all hustle.
