Katharine Emma Maltwood
Katharine Emma Maltwood is an artist. 1 work is cataloged here, principally at Victoria and Albert Museum.
She spent evenings sketching the neighbors’ cats in her Somerset cottage, then spent mornings hauling her camera out to the moors to capture the same cats doing something less dignified. That split between quiet domestic scribbles and windswept field work kept her eye sharp. Look up her “Untitled (Photograph)” from 1899—it’s a long, blustery lane where two cats race side by side, one black, one white, and you can almost hear the grass crackle.
