Artist
G.E. Madeley

G.E. Madeley is a Romanticism artist. 6 works are cataloged here, principally at Victoria and Albert Museum.
English printmaker active in the early 1800s, G.E. Madeley carved small scenes and portraits in the Beard tradition. Look at the 1st May 1824 print to see hand-colored stippling and crisp linework. The collection also includes early-19th-century views of London streets and a ca. 1830s costume study of a militia drummer. Start with the 1825 print of Westminster Bridge—you’ll spot the same lively crowd in every sheet.
