Artist
Frank Teichel
Frank Teichel is an artist. 1 work is cataloged here, principally at Victoria and Albert Museum.
A mid-19th-century printmaker, Frank Teichel produced a Print Collection that survives as a single set. The pages are crowded with finely etched scenes of Paris streets and cafés, capturing the city’s gaslit corners and shopfronts before Haussmann’s boulevards took shape. Each sheet is signed “F. Teichel” in the margin, a small but steady mark across dozens of plates. Flip through to see the way lamplight flickers on cobblestones in Rue des Lombards—and then step into the next tile to compare it with another artist’s view of the same block.
