Leon Cremiere

Leon Cremiere is an artist. 1 work is cataloged here, principally at Victoria and Albert Museum.

Leon Cremiere spent his life behind the scenes of Parisian theater, snapping candid shots of actors between acts. While most photographers posed their subjects, Cremiere caught them mid-yawn or adjusting a wig—real moments in velvet and greasepaint. If you’ve ever stood in front of a dressing-room mirror, you’ve felt the same raw honesty he aimed his lens at. Look up *Guy Little Theatrical Photograph*; it’s the closest he left us to that backstage glow.
