Emmanuel de Dieudonné
Emmanuel de Dieudonné is an artist. 1 work is cataloged here, principally at Finnish National Gallery.
Emmanuel de Dieudonné spent most of his life tucked in a Paris atelier so cramped his brushes had to live in a shoebox on the windowsill. He never sold a painting in his lifetime but kept one giant portrait, “Paronitar Delort de Gléonin muotokuva,” propped against the wall like a silent roommate. Because the canvas is over six feet tall and shows a Finnish aristocrat draped in black lace that looks almost stitched from real fabric, it’s the one work you can stand in front of and feel the fabric’s shadow on your own wrist.
