Theodoros Giannakis

Theodoros Giannakis is an artist. 1 work is cataloged here, principally at Athens School of Fine Arts.

Theodoros Giannakis was a Greek lens-wrangler who shot Athens at dawn for 20 years straight, always ending up with a single roll in his jacket pocket. He’d leave the negatives unprinted unless someone asked—then he’d hand you a strip like it was a secret. His 2007 photo “Untitled” is a frayed corner of sidewalk where a paper cup’s shadow meets a cigarette butt; it’s the whole city in one square inch. If you ever walk past a kiosk at 6 a.m., stop and look down—you’ll see his view.
