Manwaring Shurlock

Manwaring Shurlock filled small sheets with quick, delicate lines, mostly in the late 1800s. Most of what survives are loose drawings—just a few untitled scraps of figures and faces, done in pencil or ink. The few pieces we have sit in the quiet corner between academic drawing and the freer sketchbooks of the era.
