Ferenc Sidló

Ferenc Sidló is an artist. 1 work is cataloged here, principally at Victoria and Albert Museum.

Ferenc Sidló was a Hungarian sculptor who spent years in Rome studying ancient hands—so much so that he could carve a thumb with the same confidence he’d grip a chisel. He once left a half-finished sculpture in a public square overnight and returned to find children had polished it with their sleeves. Why? Sidló never polished his own work; he believed the weather should finish it. Look up his *Untitled* photograph in Gallery Tiles—it’s a blurred crowd scene where a single raised hand breaks the frame, like a quiet rebellion against stillness.
