Vasili Verestshagin

Vasili Verestshagin is an artist. 1 work is cataloged here, principally at Finnish National Gallery.

Vasili Verestshagin’s oil paintings capture vast, luminous mountain slopes under Nordic light. His Lumiset vuorenrinteet shows snow-dusted ridges glowing at dusk, the white firs catching the last pale sun. Working in the late 1800s, he carried a small palette into the Arctic circle, returning with color notes painted on the spot. Tap into Lumiset vuorenrinteet to see how he balanced icy blues with warm rose shadows.
