Artist
Fisk
Fisk is a British Romanticism artist. 1 work is cataloged here, principally at Victoria and Albert Museum.
This watercolour artist captured the Scottish Highlands from the air, a daring choice in the 1860s. Fisk’s *Ben Nevis from above Navin* (1868) shows the mountain’s jagged peak framed by moorland, its slopes picked out in soft washes of brown and green. The work belongs to an era when artists experimented with unusual vantage points, trading studio easels for sketching trips into the wild. Look closely and you’ll spot the tiny road winding below, a reminder of how small human marks can be against nature’s scale. Next, zoom into the clouds gathering over the ridge in that same painting.
