Artist

Wilson

Wilson is a Romanticism artist. 1 work is cataloged here, principally at Victoria and Albert Museum.

Printmaker in late 18th-century London who carved black-and-white portraits on copper plates for quick press runs. The 1796 etching *Miss Leake as Peggy* shows an actress caught between a bonnet and a theatre bill, her lace collar catching the light while the background stays crisply blank. These crisp, low-cost prints were snapped up by playgoers and print shops along Bow Street, where London’s theatre district buzzed nightly.
