A. Block
A. Block is an artist. 1 work is cataloged here, principally at Victoria and Albert Museum.
A. Block made 19th-century photographs of London actors posed between painted flats. Their only known surviving image is Guy Little Theatrical Photograph. The print shows a performer in costume standing beside a cramped stage set that looks like a tiled kitchen, the backdrop curling at the edges. The photo’s wide, soft focus catches the actor’s face while the scenery edges blur into shadow. Step closer to see the actor’s expression and the frayed hem of their coat.
