J.F. Barry Pittar

J.F. Barry Pittar is an Art Nouveau artist. 2 works are cataloged here, principally at Victoria and Albert Museum.

A British watercolorist active in the early 1900s, J. F. Barry Pittar specialized in architectural and natural subjects. His brush captured the Gothic facade of Chartres Cathedral stone by stone in *West Front, Chartres Cathedral*, and the quiet elegance of a swan gliding across still water in *Le Cygne*. Both sheets glow with the period’s clean line and muted palette. Look next at Pittar’s *Le Cygne*—a single white shape against soft blues and greens.
