Ward

Ward is an artist. 3 works are cataloged here, principally at Victoria and Albert Museum.
A late-eighteenth- to early-nineteenth-century watercolourist and draftsman, Ward captured the everyday built world. In “A Chester Row,” narrow brick façades step down a London hill under a grey sky. His “Study from Nature” shows a single leaf pressed to the page, shading noted in careful hatch marks. The spare pencil “Untitled” sketches a gate hinge in three quick lines—nothing grand, just the quiet geometry of hinge and post. Tap “A Study from Nature” to step closer and trace the veins Ward left behind.
