Artist

G. Fontallard

G. Fontallard is a Romanticism artist. 1 work is cataloged here, principally at Victoria and Albert Museum.

G. Fontallard made hand-colored prints of animals in early 19th-century London. One of their prints, *H Beard Print Collection* (December 1838), shows a cow standing in a stable beside a hay trough. They printed in small runs for private collectors and natural-history albums. Look for the way the cow’s flank catches the lantern light—just enough to show the brindle stripes.
