Albert Jaegers
Albert Jaegers is an artist. 1 work is cataloged here, principally at Victoria and Albert Museum.
Albert Jaegers spent his life shaping metal the way other people shape clay, turning raw ore into delicate, lifelike figures. He started as a ship’s blacksmith before switching to sculpture, then moved to New York where he set up a studio full of half-finished soldiers and athletes. His work looks like it’s still breathing, every muscle and tendon caught mid-motion. If you want to see his hands in action, head to Prospect Park in Brooklyn—his bronze *Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Arch* stands there, bigger than a house, holding up history in its own quiet way.
