Artist

Thierry Maricourt

Thierry Maricourt is a Transavantgarde artist. 1 work is cataloged here, principally at International Institute of Social History.

Thierry Maricourt liked to paint in the mornings before his day job as a mail carrier. He kept the same small studio for 20 years, and almost every canvas stayed unsold until his death. The wiry neon outlines that loop through his work read like the route map he traced each day on foot. See it for yourself in *Untitled* (1985), a square canvas where pink, yellow, and blue loops knot and snap like live wires.
