The London Stereoscopic Company sent photographers across the city with twin-lens cameras that made single photos look like three-dimensional scenes. They turned actors’ portraits into tiny stage sets you could hold up to your eyes, freezing glamour and grit in the same frame. When you tap their 1850s “Guy Little” card, you’ll see one side show a man in a powdered wig, the other a dusty backstage prop—proof that fame and mess live side by side.
