Artist
Faucon
Faucon is an Impressionism artist. 1 work is cataloged here, principally at Palais Galliera - Musée de la Mode de la Ville de Paris.
French fans in the 1880s carried folding fans that doubled as tiny watercolor canvases—Faucon’s Eventail plié pairs silk leaves with delicate paint, each fold revealing a new scene. Two of these survive in the bundle: one folded costume fan and another dated 1881, both showing the era’s taste for portable art. Today the style lives on in museum costume collections. Turn to the 1881 Eventail plié to see the brushwork up close.
