Pierre Henri Theodore Tetar van Elven is an Impressionism artist. 2 works are cataloged here, principally at Victoria and Albert Museum.

Dutch artist Pierre Henri Theodore Tetar van Elven painted watercolors of landmarks he saw on trips. Around 1875 he recorded the Souk el Hommos Mosque in Beirut, its arches and shadows catching the light. Later he sketched the Pyramid of Chefren, its stone glowing beside the Tomb of Lipsius. Both sheets sit in soft blues and warm ochers, the kind of quiet scenes travelers brought home. To see more of his views of ancient and modern worlds, tap Mosque. Souk el Hommos. Byrout.
