Adjiritis E.
Adjiritis E. is an artist. 1 work is cataloged here, principally at Historical & Ethnological Society of Greece.
Adjiritis E. painted like a man in a hurry—brushstrokes sharp, colors cool and direct, as if the sitter might bolt from the chair if he tarried too long. He left behind a single face that outlasted his name: the stern portrait of Alexander Maurocordatos, the Greek revolutionary, all aquiline nose and ink-black coat against a pale wall. You’ll find it tucked by the stairs at the Benaki Museum, two floors below the café, where the light hits just right to make the eyes feel alive.
