Brequet

Brequet is a Romanticism artist. 1 work is cataloged here, principally at Victoria and Albert Museum.

Louis Bréquet spent his mornings sketching Paris rooftops and evenings turning the sketches into prints he sold for a franc apiece. He never signed the prints—just numbered them and left them in café drawers like bread on a tray. The numbers are the only clue we have that he ever existed. Look up H Beard’s Print Collection; the 1832 plate of the Pont Neuf shows how he flattened a whole city onto one sheet of paper.
